The Family’s Favorite Sour Cherry Soup

Ingredients


1,5kg
pitted sour cherries
20 dkg
sugar
1 pinch
salt
1-2
cinnamon sticks
1 handful
cloves
1,5 l
Mizo milk (2,8%)
3 dl
Mizo sour cream (20%)
1/2
lemon

Instructions:

 

Sprinkle the cherries with sugar and salt, add cinnamon and cloves, and cover with enough water to submerge them. Bring to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat. Remove half of the cherries along with the cinnamon and cloves. Blend the remaining soup until smooth. Mix the milk and sour cream, then temper with some of the warm soup before adding to the pot. Return the removed cherries and bring to a boil again, adjusting sweetness as needed. Squeeze in lemon juice and chill well before serving.
